Not to diss previous art but I love this page, can’t be easy to make rat faces so expressive

Agreed, Hayley. As for the storyline, if there’s another one and one that has ties with Franc, that will make things a lot more complicated than they already were…

Seeing this actually makes me feel even more for both of them. A were-rat is something I had truthfully NEVER expected from him.

Agreeing with Hayley… This page may finally push me over the line into appreciating the new art for its own sake. Very expressive. And the broken frame is an effective touch. This does illustrate that there are things one can do much more easily with hand-drawn than with rendered.

I still sorta miss the uncanny-valley frisson of the old art, and I’m not a huge fan of the comic-art style, but this is good work.

I didn’t really understand this one the first time, and I’m not completely sure I understand it now. Did he manage to infect Ashly with lycanthropy?

@Albert. The same way any lycanthrope can transmit its disease. A bite or a cut from the claws. She was the one he attacked when he lost control due to Kiko controlling the others.

“Did he manage to infect Ashly with lycanthropy?”

Are you asking me, or just wondering out loud? ;)

i agree that the artwork in this page is well done, and a side note Lycanthropy only has to do with werewolves

Marionet has a valid point; the more general term is theriantrhopy.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Therianthropy

However, “lycantrhopy” is sometimes (mis)used to cover the general. See comments at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Werewolf#Other_terms

(Note: I’m not relying on Wikipedia, just pointing to it because it’s a useful and in this case reasonably accurate summary.)

As far as infection… Possible. Or recognition of a kindred spirit, who may or may not actually be carrying the shapechanging ability.

(Nothing inherently wrong with being a were-rat. Primates started out in the rodent niche, and I seem to remember that we may be cladistically fairly closely related. And rats, given the opportunity, are quite nice creatures, clever and cuddly. We’re biased against them because they compete for our food as much as anything else.)

technogeek: I had a suspicion I might be using the term incorrectly, but I hadn’t been aware of the correct one. Thank you for clarifying.
