How did you find this comic?

Been awhile since I last asked this question, soooo…

Whether you’re a new reader who recently hopped on board, or a longtime reader who’s yet to comment on one of these threads, it would be very helpful (and greatly appreciated) if you let me know 1) how you discovered Twilight Lady and 2) what other comics (print and/or web) you read and enjoy.

    found it by TWC ,
a demon with human habits seems lil bit weird to me. Demons in my phantasy don´t eat, they enjoy only suffer of their prey not spaghetti with meatballs.
    But hey, that´s creativity ^^
And the LitH as another demon lighting upon facettes of humanity in her soul can make her weak – or end an eternity punishment in being a demon.
I hope u can understand my english, i´m german ;-)

    Hi there,
I started reading frequently almost at the beginning (somewhere during ‘cass corridor secret’). I got here by an add on the sinfest page wich i check everyday. I’m also reading ‘Lackadaisy’, ‘Kukubury’, ‘The Meek’ and ‘Bear Nuts’. I wish ‘By Moon Alone’ would update more frequently and I’m still waiting on ‘Fantasy Realms’ to continue. btw: I’m german too.
    thanks and regards

  3. BowenTheKotoc

I’d seen ad banners for it for a while and finally clicked on one.

Not sure if there’s enough room here to list all the webcomics I read… It’s a pretty large list. Thank goodness for RSS feeds!

  4. Apo

Not really sure where I found it, some random webcomic page I believe. I read my share of them, in no particular order:

Darken, sinfest, least I could do, looking for group, lint, sorcery 101, out there, order of the stick, something positive, menage a3, anti-heroes, ctrl+alt+del, the noob..

  5. Lyrathian

I found it in the signature of someone at the Looking for Group forums. I read LFG, Least I Could Do, and VG Cats. I also read alot of manga, if that counts.

  6. Blake Chen

Manga definitely counts. I’ve gotten the impression (rightly or wrongly) that readers of print comics (like you and me) are in the minority here. Whether that’s really the case, or people aren’t bothering to mention the print comics they read, I’m not sure…

Maybe we’re just dinosaurs and webcomics really are the future. :)

  7. Francisco

I can’t remember how I came here (arrived during the Cass Corridor and I think I answered one of these then). It might have been TWC but I can’t remember. I know I discovered TWC around that time.

What other comics do I read (in the order I discovered them):
    Clan of the Cats
    Wandering Ones
    Nukees
    Striptease
Punch’n'Pie (yes I know it’s new but it’s the sequel to Queen of Wands, which was in this position)
    A Girl and Her Fed
    Muse Academy
    Weregeek

    This one

    Sorcery 101
    Xylia
    War of Winds
    Two Lumps
    Roza
    ZAP
    The Pure and Hidden Truth
    Dark Red
    Night Zero
    Trying Human
    Dreamless
    Surviving the World
    Witch & Cat
    Delusionary State
    Requiem by James Roden
Sea of Insanity (actually discovered this one earlier (before Muse Academy) but it was on a hiatus then)
    The Dreamland Chronicles
    Garanos
    Calling Home
    Woody After Hours
    Weesh
    The Phoenix Requiem
    Candi

    Ps.
    Anonymous,

Wenn du willst, wir koenten auf Deutsch unterhalten?

Translation so that Blake can moderate:
If you want, we could chat in German?

  8. Safta

I came here only two months ago, via a link on another comic’s site

    I read:

    this one
    Girls with Slingshots
    Sluggy Freelance
    Order of the Stick
    Drowtales
Hereville (not currently updated I believe)
    Dreamless
    The Phoenix Requiem
    Guilded Age
    Two Lumps
    Menage a 3
    Chain Bear
    Candi
    PhD comics
    Erfworld

    BTW, I’m Dutch :)

  9. Anomalous

I found this comic via Girls With Slingshots. The actual link showed an example of the artwork, and since that’s usually the thing that draws me in first, out I came.

  10. Foxglove

I started at the beginning of this story arc and I was caught first by the artwork, and then by the plot as I went through the archives. I know I came here from another webcomic but I can’t remember which one.

I also read XKCD, and Girls With Slingshots. Less regularily there’s also Something Positive, and Ctrl+Alt+Delete and a handful of others that I can’t remember at six in the morning.

  11. Mouse

I saw an advert or two on the comics I read…. and I read everything. About 50-ish comics. My favorites are things like Sluggy Freelance,Girls with Slingshots, Yu+Me, Girl Genius, and Gunnerkrigg court… regular updates, decent to good art, not always a complicated plot, but well-developed and interesting.

  12. Versatek6

Saw an ad on a related site – don’t recall which one.

I can’t remember for sure (been here a while!) – but very likely it was as one of the cross-comic banners on a TWC “confirm vote” page. They often show intriguing hints which I follow up – often disappointed, but not by Twilight Lady!

  14. Skewered_viewpoint

(Glides out of the shadowed corner)

I had seen several banners about Twilight Lady, and finally decided to look. Came in about the fourth or fifth page, and been here ever since. Started with Sluggy Freelance about six or seven years ago, and have grown my list.

    Sluggy
    Ctrl-Alt-Del
    The Devil’s Panties
    Order of the Stick
    Erfworld
    Shadowgirls
    Wayfarer’s Moon
    Aurora of the Seven Seas
Purgatory Tower (has’nt updated in a loonngg time)
    Off Hours
    Hero in Training
    Atland
    Tozo
    Exiern
    Marilith
    Paradigm Shift
    Planet Karen
    Fatebreaker
    By Moon Alone
    Roza
    No Need For Bushido
I was kidnapped by Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space
    Downfall
    Edge of December
    Ned the Chainsaw Guy
    Xyliatales
    Charby the Vampirate
    Twilight Lady
    B.I.T.C.H. Squad
    Akashik
    Strawberry Death Cake
    Abandon First Vampire
    Clan of the Cats
    Spaghetti Strap Western
    The Villain Next Door
    The Order of Talis
    House of Muses
    Shades
    Mysteries of the Arcana
    E-depth Angel
    Hard graft
    031 October 31st
    Mistress
    Warriorborn
    Geminni
And several others that have vanished off the face of the earth.

Generally, I look for the art, the story, and/or any interesting angles the artist/writer bring to their work. it might be a certain style, or an interesting character. Even comedic relief can entice me to stay with a webcomic.

This is the most I’ve ever said in a comment, but though I don’t respond very frequently, I will be in the shadows, lurking to my heart’s content.

(Glides back into the shadowed corner).

  15. drivesbynite

Belfrycomics.net , then The Meek; I’d already read the current day (I hop around a lot & not everybody is clear on their update schedule)– so I clicked on one of the bottom banner ads. I like the comic; can tell this is one where storyline has priority to artwork (art is OK too). I’ve read Linda Hamilton’s novels, and now Anita Blake comics; likewise Jim Butcher & Harry Dresden books/comics. Mr. Green & tales of the Nightside …kindred spirits? I read a lot…

  16. anon

    ad on something positive

  17. bknabe

I’m still jealous of those people who have so much time for webcomics. I was a print comic guy until they started tying every comic into everything and I couldn’t afford to keep up anymore. I found Twilight Lady at Shadowgirls, and I read 16 other comics I can’t take time to type our right now cuz I’m at work. I’ll try to remember to do it at home tonight.

  18. metaal

Great comic, nice ideas, nice turns, I like the different approach to coloring
came by it when someone on devil’s panties forum pointed me to it

  19. Abe

I found twilightlady by following a link from another webcomic (not sure which one).
    I read:
    sinfest
    parallel dementia
    heroes inc
    ctrl +alt +del
    least i could do
    looking for group
    menagea3
    vgcats (when it updates)
    8 bit theatre (nuklearpower.com)
    freakangels
    eeriecuties
    schoolbites
check filthylies every now and again in vain hopes of a freak update
used to read meninhats until it died
used to read filibustercartoons until it died

  20. Eh

Found the comic through an ad on another webcomic, and honestly, I didn’t like the art direction at first. It really grew on me, though, and the story’s amazing. You have a very vivid imagination.

    Other stuff I read… man..

    EGS
    Striptease
    Chugworth
    Sore Thumbs
    Errant Story
    Misfile
    Last Blood
    The Zombie Hunters
    xkcd
    Brymstone
    Wayrift
    Dead Heaven
    and Tales of Pylea

Also read Metrophor, but they’re on hiatus

There it is. I’m not gonna say anything cliche like keep up the good work, but do that.

  21. aoc

  22. Ulmo-t

I found Twilight lady through TWC and have seen some interesting banners in other comics before, so once I clicked… The story was somewhere in middle of Bequeath and I read it whole through one night :) . Since then the time is sooooo long before updates.

What else I´m reading? (in order as I like them)
    Order of the Stick
    Erfworld
    Wayfarers Moon
    Weregeek
    Merceneiress
    Phoenix Requiem
    Pritchslapped: Subterfuge
    Xylia tales

    Greetings from Czech Republic.

  23. Francesco

I found your advert on some webcomic page two days ago. I binged on your archive, you’ve got a pretty neat story going, but I don’t think I’m going to keep on following you. I once read 40 webcomics periodically, but realized that I was wasting an hour a day, and today I only read 3 webcomics(oots, xkcd, smbc. No not because of the acronyms :) . But I’m probably going to drop by someday and catch up, so thanks for the comic and keep up the good work.

  24. Blake Chen

“I binged on your archive, you’ve got a pretty neat story going, but I don’t think I’m going to keep on following you.”

You do realize we now own you body and soul… don’t you?

  25. Felix Lorn

Found through a link somewhere-or it might have been TWC.

Other comics? There are about fifty.
Looking For Group, Dragon Doctors, Emergency Exit are three of my faves. Schlock Mercenary and Order of the Stick are my oldest choices.

  26. dagibbs

I found it by a project-wonderful add, not sure where.

Hm… print comics — not so much, just the occasional classics: Watchmen, Sandman, the occasional Hellraiser, and a few scattered bits. Going back farther, Elfquest, and even farther back random 4-color superhero comics (e.g. Alpha Flight).

I read a few comic on Spider Forest and every so often I look at the list and choose a new one to read. That was about a week ago and then I went to a place with no internet for the Holidays so I only just finished yesterday. I really like the comic. As for the web comics I read, I’ll give you a list of my favourites in no particular order:
And Shine Heaven Now (Hellsing fan comic)
    The Phoenix Requiem
    Parallel Dementia
    Gunnerkrigg Court
    Girl Genius
    Khoas Komic
    The Forsaken

Lets see, I believe I was reading one of my other comics when I stumbled upon it.

Um, the first Web comic I started with was
Questionable Content, then Misfile, Exiern, Red String, Nahast, and Collar 6. Always looking for more though that peak my interest ^-^
