On the “stiffer” side, Belham is known for setting traps, and is proud of that fact.

On Bellham’s side, she doesn’t NEED to poison them, she can kick their butt with ease. She also doesn’t kill her oponents, so DEADLY poison is out.

Still she IS a sadist, and something highly unpleasant may have found its way into the dinner.

    hahahahaha!

    Bellham’s dark humor is great!

The only question is: Is the Lady on the mood for jokes?

I think it’s more psych ops. If they eat she gains 2 advantages:

    1) They will have a little sympathy for her which would make it easy to catch them unawares and

    2) Others would see them eating at her table and think that they are on her side.

You never know, there might be bits of a sentient creature in there (may be even human) and they find out after they’ve eaten?

Breaking bread with someone usually IS the sign of entering into a contract in most ancient traditions. I’m still mighty suspicious of Belham’s sudden hospitality. As for the “dark humor,” it’s rather hard to find things humorous when you’re bound tightly by some tentacle creature.

I don’t that that Bellham’s a sadist…she goes on about her business of getting the job done. it’s just that her job is either slavery or bounty hunting.

I don’t think that Bellham’s done something strange to the food because she has always seemed to me to be very civilized(according to my standards) and intelligent! but I agree…there’s something insidious about the dinner invite! maybe a trap for The Lady?

Belahm isn’t a sadist, no. What she IS is sharp-tongued, short-tempered, and perpetually in a foul mood. (I’m guessing that’s a common attribute for trolls.) Her being so suddenly charismatic and charming is eerie, to say the least. It’s not like her, and suggests she has something in mind.

Once again, she always has her act together and usually knows what she’s doing. (Which is probably why she’s never had to kill anyone.) The least we can take from her behavior here is that she feels like she’s in control of the situation, which is a scary enough thought in and of itself… I’d like to know what she’s hiding.

So everyone’s forgotten about the torture scenes and the glee she exhibited in them? Yes she is short-tempered, sharp tongued, and in a foul mood, but she delights in making others suffer.

“why wont the Lady just enter the building”

The Lady has entered the building. As you can see on the bottom right of panel 3 on page 4.

“& help them (Rona & co) kick some troll ass & return benjy 2 his parents”

Oh… is THAT what you wanna see happen?? Hmmmmmm…

Hmmm, my comment got eaten somehow. Yes, I had made the comment on her mistreatment of sentients. Up to and including how they ‘harvested’ Patrice and Benjy.

I have a dark sense of humor, but no sense of dark humor. The implications in a slight switch of the phrase are interesting, and I like the way she says it. She’s a really interesting character, with some kind of moral code I haven’t figured out yet, and a very unique perspective.
