Wouldnt loosing the “self” be the ultimate freedom, beeing loose of all bondages?
Beeing afraid of lossing oneself isnt beeing completly free…
I think this scene ultimatly shows all the drawbacks about being totaly free and why lack of freedom is nessecary.
Often its the borders and the limits that define the things and give them sene.

And yet, she sees not the trap seeking utter freedom is. . . .

and like I’d be impressed with the philosophy of a video character?

“and like I’d be impressed with the philosophy of a video character?”

As opposed to a comic character? ;)

“And like I’d be impressed with the philosophy of a video character?”

I’m pretty sure whatever comment a video game character makes, was concieved by a human script writer. Some might even have been influenced by whatever philosophical teachings you would deem prudent to be impressed by. :P
Don’t be so prone to judge the medium through which one chooses to express one’s philosophies. That’s so… constipated.

“Ernest Hemingway once wrote, ‘The world is a fine place and worth fighting for.’ I agree with the second part.”
    — William Somerset, Se7en

So long as philosophy from unexpected media sources is on the table (or was a year before I write this, anyway)

Living beings, at least, humans, are defined by our experiences. While admittedly the Lady doesn’t seem to function in the same way as a human does…what possible good could it be to attain ‘ultimate freedom’ if there is no *self* left to *enjoy* it?

The entire concept of ‘renouncing everything’ is a sham, I should think. Or a philosophy imperfectly explained by those who espouse it.

Wisdom is in the content, not the source.

If I heard a revelation from the mouth of child, should I shun it?
