Just a mirage, a reflection of true existence? (You can say the same thing for Senserealm, actually... but Senserealm is devoted to interactions of the reflection, whereas in Subrealm the reflection exists only for convenience of seeing.) So I would expect Houdini can do anything he wishes with the meaningless outside. It fits someone who devoted his life to fooling the senses.
