He may have picked up a new shader bundle. Besides, he’s still learning. Go back to the beginning and look at some of the early renders.

Wellll… yes, that’s true. But I wouldn’t use a different shader just ’cause I can’t wait to play with new toys. There’s always a reason for it.
And when there isn’t, I’ll make one up.

Usually, if the texture and the shading has changed, it denotes a change in realms.
