Umm, how long has Fang been like this? shouldn’t someone have noticed his more…large transformtions(other than those wierdos) by now?

I think he chose that form so he could escape and get far enough away from people so that noone could get hurt on his behalf again and he could get as far away from the area as possible (and any more hunters that might follow). I’m betting he called that particular form so he could get as far away as possible.

Well, anyone who did notice probably died since Fang’s wife only used the animals when she felt the need to protect Fang.

Something that bugs me though. When we saw Fang transform earlier, he left his “skin” behind. This is a full morphing then? In that case, what happened to the left behind skin?

Oh, and looking forward to the next tale. I’ve been enjoying these tales a lot.

People see what they want to, Think of the MC Vlad early on at the Catacombs, no eyes visible untill jen really looked. People would see a horse, a tree, or whatever to avoid seeing the truth

Very nice end to a thought provoking story. Some really interesting comments here in the posts. I can’t wait to read the next story.

I wanted to leave with a sense that we still don’t know everything about the nature of Fang’s transformations, that shape-shifting in general was still basically an unexplainable phenomenon. The main idea I wanted to explore was that shape-shifting over the centuries, whether it’s werewolves or werecats or whatever, might possibly have involved transfers of consciousness between dimensions. But Marge’s theory is, for now, still just a theory.

So it’s not inconceivable that Fang can transform in a way that leaves behind no residue. Since there’s more than one way to, er, skin a cat. (Sorry… couldn’t resist.)

See, how do we know it’s Fang chosing the transformation here and not his wife?

I personally feel for the guy and in my own mind write a happy prologue where his wife moves on and takes her beasties with her. But I’m a softie like that. I look forward to the next tale, too. :)
