I like the straightness of the film strip format. Most of the time the cartoon has a substantial amount of detail in each frame and with many shifts between small/big frames or left-to-right/up-to-down read frames, it can become hard to read. I must say I haven’t really seen any of that in your comic, it’s just easy to spot when a comic writer starts to experiment with different formats. Most just try out a few things so see what works and that’s great but once in a while a writer will get lost in the ‘format creativity area’ and go completely overboard, making it very hard to follow the storyline.

Oh and I love the lighting in this strip, esp. the last frame. It made me think of nice summer evenings when you’re outside, feeling the warmth of the setting sun on your face. The feeling is tangible

Well, I like the storylines so far, so I’ll keep reading anyway. However, this endless canvas filmstrip stuff is annoying me on a level I can’t fully explain.
I like reading books. I like glimpses of what happens next, I suppose, when out of the corners of my eyes the next panel sneaks in some glances.
With this, I have to scroll down, which results in seeing usually the speech bubbles first before seeing the whole picture. Since I’m a fast reader, I usually have read them by the time I scrolled down far enough.
It just doesn’t work for me. It kills a lot of the immersiveness. If you are looking for opinions, I’d definitely prefer having it back to normal pagestyle - but as I said, I’ll be reading anyway.

Wow! I just found this comic and spent the evening getting caught up. What a great story. I like the comments in the web log, some good discussion going on. It’s a thought provoking story with a good group of readers. I jaf to order the Hungry Ghost cd, the tracks were great!
