The Disappeared
Threats. They exist everywhere, so we’re told.
Threats from beyond our shores. Threats in our city streets. Threats within our homes.
One warning after another. Right from the moment we’re born.
Germs. Serial killers. Terrorists. Chemicals in our food. Strangers with candy. Global warming. Bombs of every imaginable shape, size, and function.
One day, they tell us… one day the threats may even come from as far and wide as outer space.
But what of inner space?
Ladies and gentlemen, may we present the latest, newest type of threat – entities from our not-so-friendly neighboring dimension.
Soon they will be warning us of this as well. Once it occurs to them to do so.
Be afraid. Be very afraid…

As if the Lady herself weren’t bad enough, now we get things that even she’s afraid of. Will she and Eleanor have to work together to contain a greater threat?
Will this wake the world up? Or just prove that people won’t see something they don’t want to see even if it literally bit them?
More questions, as always. I hope you know where this is going, at least; goodness knows none of us do. Heheheh.
By the way, Mr. Chen, I’ve been wondering. How long does it take you to draw one of these pages? They seem so rich and detailed for a daily webcomic.

Thanks… I did have a lot of completed pages when I started, so how long I can keep up the daily updates remains to be seen once I use up that initial buffer. If only I didn’t need to sleep or eat…
Some pages take longer than others, but on average each page takes about 4-6 hours.
Just to give you an idea of how far I try to stay ahead, in order to avoid lateness… I am currently working on page 16 of the story that follows “The Disappeared” (which will run through June and some of July).
So I could drop everything and go on vacation tomorrow, and still be able to keep the updates coming for another 2 months.

I figured you had a bunch made in advance. In fact, I was wondering if you’d actually drawn all the pages you were going to draw, and were maybe in the process of compiling them into books. I can’t imagine trying to draw a page like this every day, certainly not while making them tell a coherent story.
